You can detect the boundary (interface) between two liquids by measuring the capacitance value with our level meter.

Interface detection1
Interface detection2

We heated liquids A and B to 80℃ and placed them in the cup-type sensor,(on the left). We added 900 cc of liquid B and 500 cc of liquid A so that the interface was above the electrode part,(on the right). The electrode detected only liquid B, and the capacitance value was the limit value of 5V.As we drained the B liquid from the bottom and lowered the interface, the voltage decreased. When the electrode detected only liquid A, the capacitance value showed its minimum limit of 1V.

The voltage changes steplessly from 5V for B liquid to 1V for A liquid. You can detect interfaces by setting an arbitrary threshold.
The speed of draining the liquid was tested at 500cc/min, but in actual work it would be 25L/min, which is 50 times faster. You can detect accurately by making detailed adjustments on-site.

Application

This product detects the interface when liquid is drained from the separation layer.
