Measurement principle
The opposed two metal plates store electrical energy, this energy is electrostatic capacity.
If insulator or semiconductor is in the gap of two metal plates, the capacitance is increased. This rate of increase is the dielectric constant. There is a value of stable dielectric constant for each object.
When you let powder or granules drop in the gap of electrode that two metal plates, and constantly measure the capacitance, you can take the output that is directly proportional to the flow rate change.
The powder or granular flow meter is using as a transducer the measurement capacitance meter of high accuracy and high sensitivity. This is a flow measurement system that has no moving parts.
